Afganistan 'Norwegian troops': 20 New Armoured Vehicles will be delivered with DINGO 2

The Norwegian troops in Afghanistan will be equipped with 20 new Dingo II armoured vehicles, at a cost of NOK 150 millon. Ten of them will be delivered at the end of November.
The contract for the delivery of the vehicles by the German producer Krauss Maffei Wegman was signed this week.
There has long been a demand for better protection of the Norwegian troops on patrol in Afghanistan.
About the Dingo II Armoured Vehicle:
As a consequent evolution of the DINGO 1, which has been in use since 2001, the DINGO 2 is the safest and best-protected wheeled vehicle in its class. Several international users rely on its optimal balance of protection, mobility and payload. Both DINGO models demonstrated their outstanding performance on extremely difficult terrains and under extreme climatic conditions during operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina (SFOR), Macedonia (TFF), Kosovo (KFOR), Lebanon (UNIFIL), Chad (now MINURCAT) and last but not least in Afghanistan (ISAF). Both the ease of air transfer and the high tactical mobility of the DINGO are significant advantages for these deployments.
